Suzanne Paige Yoculan is the head coach of the women's gymnastics program at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. She has built the Georgia gymnastics program into a perennial national powerhouse, and is one of the most successful college gymnastics coaches in history.
Yoculan graduated from Penn State University in 1975, was named the head women's gymnastics coach at the University of Georgia on August 24, 1983, and coached her first meet against Alabama on December 3, 1983. As of the conclusion of the 2007 season, Georgia's gymnastics team, or the "Gym Dogs," as they're more commonly known, have posted a meet record of 804-116-7 (.874 winning percentage). As of 2008, they've won 16 Southeastern Conference Championships and 9 NCAA championships.
Yoculan has announced that she plans to retire from the head coaching position after the end of the 2009 season.
